Speech Therapy Services

 

A licensed Speech Pathologist is available to address cognitive re-training needs, language and communications, aural impairments and dysphagia or swallowing difficulties.

 

 

 

 

 Programs that may be followed by a Speech Pathologist

 include:

Swallowing or dysphagia training to address:

   - Residents who are experiencing altered swallowing patterns

   - Evaluation for the possibility of aspiration

Rehabilitative feeding programs to address:

   - Weaning from enteral feeding

   - Management of feeding and swallowing deficits through

      compensatory strategies and assistive feeding supplies

   - Strategies and assistive feeding supplies

Cognitive re-training as able to address:

   - Memory deficits

   - Attention to task

   - Sequencing and safety awareness

   - Reasoning deficits

Assessment and treatment of hearing difficulties:

   - Speech and communications programs

   - Reading and listening
